Steyr CO2 to Compressed Air

Steyr LP1 (belongs to our shooting club) with Air-Kit (pressure reducing valve + short cylinder). Actual Air-Kit price for private customer in Austria 183,38 Euros (incl. 20% VAT).

"Conversion" itself takes about 5 minutes (remove CO2-Cylinder mount; clean all parts; install valve).

CO2-Cylinder mount removed

Pressure reducing valve and short cylinder installed

  1. Why convert? My LP 1 shoots flawlesly since SEPTEMBER 1991! The compensator of the LP 1 works better with CO2, since air has 1/10 of the mass of CO2. Filling the cylinders is much more easier, no pumping or reverting to expencive compressors, just an old fire extinguisher is all you need.
OK, CO2 has a critical temperature of 305K (32C) and might have problems with Vo. In my country we have regularly above 40o every summer, but I never had any problems.

And the enviromental problems with CO2 are just balderdash.
    Really.

    1. Local federation and ISSF don't allow usage of cylinders older than 10 years.
Second problem: steel cylinder is too heavy for 10-12 years shooter.
